Environmental Education

In 2018, Sintang Orangutan Center launched its Environmental Education Unit to inspire awareness and educate communities about the importance of conservation and biodiversity protection. This program aims to spark meaningful behavioral changes for a sustainable future. Through hands-on lessons and activities, SOC collaborates with students, teachers, schools, and local villages to deepen their understanding of the environment and empower them to take action in protecting it. With the generous support of our donors, we’ve also established scholarships for students living near orangutan release sites. Additionally, we are transforming Jerora Forest School into a dynamic environmental education hub.
